Heavy melting steel (HMS) or heavy melting scrap is a designation for recyclable steel and wrought iron. It is broken up into two major categories: HMS 1 and HMS 2, where HMS 1 does not contain galvanized and blackened steel, whereas HMS 2 does.

HMS 2 - IRSI 206: Same as IRSI 204, but max size 60 x 18 inches.
We offer an extensive range of heavy melting steel scraps that meet the raw material requirement of varied steel plants. Commonly known as heavy metal or melting scrap, this scrap is black in color and is attained from steel scrap and wrought iron.
ISRI 211:
Homogeneous iron and steel scrap magnetically separated, originating from automobiles, unprepared No. 1 and No. 2 steel, miscellaneous baling and sheet scrap. Average density 70 pounds per cubic foot.
PNS consists of cut structural and plate scrap, steel plates, structural shapes, crop ends, shearing’s, or broken steel tires. Thickness not less than ¼ inches, not over 5 feet in length and 18-24 inches in width. Phosphorus or Sulphur not over 0.05 percent, as specified by the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries.
Clean steel scrap from a factory, not to exceed 4 feet in any one direction, may include slitter, low residual, punching’s, BHP, coils ends, sheet clippings, stampings, etc.
